Camera housing

The weakest point in any machine vision system is the camera housing window.

Even the slightest dirt build-up or coating will reduce the total performance of the entire modern camera system. We all know car driving can be really dangerous without a clean windscreen. A continuous air flow along with a water spray is not sufficient; mechanical wiping with a rubber blade is also called for.

Now this technology is available for the paper industry in a Viconsys Clean Housing. The robust wiper and water nozzle will be programmed to implement a cleaning cycle every 2-10 minutes, depending on the environment. The motor and controls are installed inside the housing. The wiper is robust enough to withstand high pressure washing systems as typically used during paper machine shutdowns. All material is stainless steel (AISI 316) and features an electrolytic high polish surface treatment. The result is a permanently clear window; no dirt build-up, no coating through atomized materials like calcium. No manual intervention is necessary, either. Water consumption is minimal (about 1 l/h) and no air is needed.

Clean housing is also available without wiper washer for cameras in less demanding positions.

You can choose the delivery limits. Our preferred delivery combination is a complete unit fitted with a Pentax Cosmicar 8-48 mm/ f 1.0 zoom lens, our new replacement camera, and a coaxial adapter. If you already have a Cosmicar lens in your current camera housing, we will credit it to you on an exchange basis. With this delivery model you will receive a complete and carefully tested package.

You can also choose just the Clean Housing and carry out the camera installation yourself, if you wish.

As an option we can deliver a control box, which contains the timing control, water supply and wiper motor control.
